The Kindness Kind began as the creation of songwriters Nicolas Danielson and Charles Larson, who met playing together on Seattle-veteran Dolour's summer 2005 US tour. After swapping mix CDs over a post-tour drink, they decided it was a match and began spending long hours in a room surrounded by music equipment and bottles. Charles' roommate and previous bandmate Kevin Bray joined them on drums, while Nicolas' former bandmate Brian Todd arrived on bass soon after hearing the early demos. Finally, Alessandra Rose brought her stunningly clear and expressive voice to the mix to complete the Kindness Kind.
