Most of us suspect that climate change is happening, but is it a terrible threat or an exaggeration? Tim Flannery argues passionately for the urgent need to address the implications of global climate change now in his new book The Weather Makers. The government of Australia has changed its stance on global warming as a result of evidence presented in this book. Like Jared Diamond and Stephen Jay Gould, Flannery has the ability to take complex ideas and make them accessible. He spells out specific steps that individuals can take to substantially reduce carbon-dioxide emissions. Flannery is an acclaimed field zoologist and one of Australia?s leading thinkers and writers.
