Feeding Time
Old and unbusted: we've brought RSS feeds back to searches, so you can once again be notified whenever your favorite band hits town. New hotness: you can get updates on everything that's happening in a particular place, like a city or even a neighborhood.
If you're not familiar with RSS, it's a way to find out about new events on Upcoming without even visiting our site. (But don't stay away forever... we'd miss you!) You can see feeds on your
My Yahoo page or in lots of other
"feed reader" applications and websites.
Here's how. If you're interested in
jazz in New York, just do that search on Upcoming, and then click the

button at the top right. You'll see a list of options about how to subscribe; if you don't have a favorite feed reader yet, try adding it to
My Yahoo!.
Want all events from a particular town? Find it using our
Places page, and click the Subscribe button. Some
neighborhoods even have a lot to keep up with!
And it's much the same for venues and lots more around the site. Just look for the orange icon.
If you like seeing your events on a calendar, check out our iCal feeds too. They work in Mac OS X's iCal, and Windows users have a choice between
Mozilla Sunbird and
some versions of Microsoft Outlook.
(And, hi there. I'm
flipzagging, a.k.a Neil, and although this is my first blog post, I've been chief geo-refactorer / elite shirt folder for quite a while now. Upcoming rocks. It's been a blast to work with the team and see what they've built in concert with all the "viewers like you".)
