Separate group moderation for events and members
Group moderators can now choose to moderate either events or members separately.
As has been
suggested to us via the new suggestions board and through other channels, our Group Moderators have longed for the ability to choose whether to moderate event suggestions and members separately.
Since this makes a whole lot of sense, I took a little time out and made this happen. If you're a moderator, and you like control over events that appear in your group calendar, but want to open up your group for anyone to join easily, then you should turn off "Member moderation."
It's simple - go to your group's homepage, then click "Edit/Moderate Group," and then "Edit Group Details." Uncheck the "Member moderation" box, and click through to save the group details.
I also went through the API and made a few necessary changes that correspond with this, namely:
- Group.add and edit now support the two parameters separately.
- All group methods now return the two attributes separately, and don't return moderation_level anymore.
- I also eliminated a duplicate attribute, num_members, which is covered by member_count already.
Be on the lookout for a few new snazzy groups enhancements coming soon. Enjoy!
