Summer Festivals to Watch
Everyone's already going to
Lollapalooza, and they've just been to
Bonnaroo; but I wanted to find some of the more obscure, but just as electrifying music festivals taking place. These may be outside the scope of Upcoming homepages and friend's events, but they're definitely worth hearing about.
Ever heard of the
Roskilde Festival in Denmark? We're talking 90,000 attendees, from metalheads to Scandinavian punk rockers, camping out for four days outside Copenhagen. 36 bands are scheduled to
Rock It! in Shanghai; and in Dublin, the
Oxegen Festival will host over 100 acts just for the weekend. Belgium's
Rock Werchter and
Pukkelpop boast great line-ups this year too.
Since I won't be traveling quite that far this summer, I checked around for some interesting outdoor concerts closer to home:
There's nothing quite like an outdoor concert, with its mix of dirt and music. What's been the best summer festival you've been to so far?

kewlio: Thanks for the tip on ACL! I can't believe the bands who'll be there.
This year, whilst I really want to head down south to FarmFest 2007, my bank balance tells me I'm going to be sticking closer to home and pitch tent at Jizzlefizzle.
remtheory: T in the Park does look like a great choice. And it's carbon neutral!
